Blissful Surrender - Cover Reveal

Title: Blissful Surrender ( Bliss #3)
Author: BJ Harvey

This is a story of Sean Miller, a dom that will have your panties diving for cover with an eyebrow quirk. That will have even the strongest woman dropping to their knees in submission with a piercing stare, and Samantha Richards, a female cop who’s tough, seemingly impenetrable shell is strong enough to resist everyone except the one man it was build up to protect her against.

**Disclaimer – If you thought the first two Bliss books were hot, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Creative use of handcuffs, batons, a club scene you have to read to believe, and a tough as nails dominant who is blindsided by the one woman strong enough to threaten his resolve not to let his past dictate his future.**

Like the other books in the Bliss series, this book can be read as a stand alone. There are common characters in the books but it is not necessary to read the first two books in the series to read this one.

“Sean, I—”

No. She’s not getting another moment to talk herself out of this, out of us. She’s been running for way too long. This time it’s for keeps. This time, I’m not letting anything come between us—not my brother, not her mother, not her job and not some convoluted idea she gets in her head that she is not the submissive I need her to be. I’m sick of the bullshit, and this time I want what is mine.

And Sam is mine.

Wrapping my arm around her waist, I pull her body tight against mine and slant my head, slamming my mouth to hers as she gasps in shock. My hand grabs her blonde ponytail, holding her in place. Her tight muscles relax when my tongue rolls over hers as I set out to rediscover the beauty that is Samantha Richards. Her taste is intoxicating, and I find myself wanting to consume her, to lose myself inside of this gorgeous woman whose mind continues to deny the connection between us. In this moment, I want to show her everything I am, everything I can do to her, every possible way I can make her feel. I know I’m losing control, but with Sam, I don’t care.

I press my hips into her, pressing my hard as steel cock against the softness of her stomach. I feel her arms move between us, and I expect her to push me away, but she fists my shirt and pulls me closer, thrusting her hips into me in silent invitation.

She may not be able to admit the words, but she can show me with her body, with her actions—she can no longer deny the spark between us.

I pull my head back slightly, raking my teeth against her bottom lip. I scan her face, looking for any remaining uncertainty. If she said no it would hurt like hell, but I’d let her go. Again. But all I can see are swollen, pink lips and half-cast eyes full of want, and I know in that moment that I have my Sammy back. Even if it’s just for a few moments, a few hours, or maybe the night…if that is all I get with her, then I’ll take it willingly.

If this is the only chance I get with her, I’m going to make it count. I’m going to draw it out and make it last until neither one of us can move; until neither of us can breathe.

“You were saying?” I ask, raising an eyebrow.

Synopsis
Ace is bad.
Very bad.
After losing my brother, I know I should stay away. So why can’t I?
He’s irresistible. He’s confident. He’s amazing… but he’s dangerous.
He was there the night my brother was killed. He watched it all go down.
I should stay away. The things I saw weren’t acceptable. They’re not even legal.
I should want Ace as far away from me as possible—I should consider him a monster and a threat to my life—but something keeps drawing me back. Something keeps bringing me to him. Something is making me… weak for him.
He’s warned me many times to stay away. He’s even threatened me. But I know, just as much as he does, that I won’t stay away.
I won’t until I get answers.
But there’s one thing wrong with getting too many answers. It leads to lies. It leads to trouble. It leads to danger. But worst of all, it leads to me falling deeply and madly in love with him.
I’ve gotta be out of my mind.

Excerpt

Footsteps start up the complex stairs. They’re heavy. Slow. I try to control my breathing but it’s hard. The room that was once my sanctuary – my get away—now feels like a trap. A prison. I can hardly breathe.
Sealing my eyes, I listen as his footsteps get closer to my door until finally he stops. It’s quiet for a moment. I think he’s got his ear to the door, wondering what I’m doing.
Then he bangs on the door and I gasp. I don’t get up, though. He can’t get in. The door is locked and the chain is on. I don’t think he’d be dumb enough to kick the door in, knowing I have neighbors. Good thing they’re nosey. They’ll come looking for the noise immediately.
“London, I know you’re in there! Car’s in the parking lot.” His voice is no longer calm and casual. It’s angry and demanding. “Open the door.”
I don’t say anything, but I do stand and hold the knife in front of me just in case. I slowly walk out of my bedroom and towards the living room.
“Open it or I’ll kick it down. I don’t give a fuck who sees me.”
I gulp and gasp at the same time, which causes me to burp. And it’s pretty loud. Loud enough for Ace to hear.
Instantly, the door swings open and hits the wall with a loud thud. I scream as I fall on my side. When I look up, Ace is standing between the frames of his door, adjusting his tie. All I can make out is his shadow, but I can feel his eyes hard on me.
Stepping inside, he shuts the door behind him coolly. I scramble away with the knife in my hand. When I get to my feet, I dash for my bedroom and grab the telephone. He chases after me, warning me not to do anything stupid.
I dial 9, but I’m not given the chance to finish. He snatches the phone out of my hand and slams it down. I spin around, bringing the butcher knife in front of me again.
Ace takes a quick step back, glaring down at the knife. Then, a slow smirk forms on his lips. The lips I hated I admired once.
“I’ll cut you,” I threaten.
“You won’t,” he says boldly.
“I won’t?” I hiss, bringing the edge of the knife to his neck. “Don’t test me. I will.”
He raises his hands in the air, shaking his head. “When’s the last time you sharpened this bad boy, huh? Three years ago? It’s as dull as fucking a nun in bed.”
“I don’t give a shit! I can still cut you with it! Just… sit down!” I demand, circling him, knife still clutched in my hands and at his neck. “On the bed.”
He frowns. “No.”
“I don’t wanna hurt you, but if I have to I will!” I shout, voice wavering.
“That’s the thing… you won’t.” His tone is even.
I keep my tears back and my emotions behind me for now. I don’t want him to think I’m weak. I don’t want him to get away either. But deep inside I know I won’t hurt him. I won’t cut him. I’m too afraid to shed blood after seeing so much already.
With a bored sigh, Ace snatches the knife out of my hand and tosses it out of my bedroom. It skids across the hard wood floors, causing a clanking noise that makes my ears ring. I gasp, and start to run after it, but he grabs my arm tight and shoves me against the nearest wall. It’s not a hard shove. Nor does it hurt. But I’m still afraid.
As I tremble, he brings one of his large hands up and locks my face between his fingers. His eyes stare deeply into mine, his nostrils flared. From the slit of light filtering in through my window, he looks pissed. I know he’s going to kill me. I’m a witness.
“Listen to me,” he grumbles. His warm breath spills down my chest, across my cleavage. “I told you I’m not going to hurt you.”
“Why wouldn’t you?” I spit.
“I won’t. I’m not the one that killed Jonah. They did.”
Hearing Jonah’s name causes fiery tears to build in my eyes. “It’s your fault. I know it. Why wouldn’t they kill you, too? What were you doing there anyway? Why was Jonah there? Why did they kill him?” All of this is spilling out of me. I’m outraged. I’m pissed that Ace is still alive and my brother isn’t. I’m terrified. I’m… I’m a mess.
“Listen to me!” he demands, releasing my face to lock his hands on my shoulders. “I don’t know why they killed Jonah, all right? I don’t know why they didn’t kill me. But you have to understand… it’s what we do. It’s what Jonah signed up for. It’s business, and we can’t help when shit gets bloody.”
I process his words, give them some thought. “So… you’re the one that got him into that shit? What is it? What’d you promise him? I know Jonah, and I know he wouldn’t do something this bad without something in exchange.”
“I didn’t promise him shit.” Ace runs one hand through his slick hair. “He knew what he was in for. He was money-hungry, just like everyone else. He saw a way to achieve it and he went for it. It was a mistake… him coming to Atlanta.”
“How is that a mistake?” I demand. “I invited him. I graduated!”
Ace tilts his chin to meet my eyes. His are dark, and if I’m not mistaken, watery. I’m not given the chance to figure it out completely because he blinks and just like that, he’s angry again. “Don’t go to the cops. It’ll only get you killed.”
And with that, he releases me and walks out of my bedroom. I follow after him, grabbing his arm before he can get out the front door. “Killed by who? You?” I’m keeping my voice steady, but deep inside I’m scared out of my fucking mind.

I turned away, bag in one hand, my purse in the other. Two hundred dollars in my pocket and no idea where I was going next. I just knew I had to get away. Phoenix was no option. I never looked back, never heard the truck start, never heard his voice again.

I walked out of the parking lot, down the street and down the entrance ramp to the interstate. It only took a few minutes with my thumb out for a big rig to stop. I ran up to the truck, opened the passenger door, swinging up into the cab.

“Where you headed little lady?” Drawled the driver.

“The question is where are you going?”

“I’m headed to Salt Lake.”

“Well, if you don’t mind some company I sure could use a ride.”

“If I had minded the company I wouldn’t have stopped.” He drawled again only this time with a wide toothy smile.

I threw my bag up in the sleeper, stowing my purse at my feet. I stuck my hand in my jacket pocket and felt the money. My eyes started to fill with tears.

“You OK there?”

“Yep, I’m OK. Just something in my eye.”

“Something like a broken heart?”

“You might say that.”

Let Me Love - Release Day Launch

SYNOPSIS:

A chance
encounter. An undeniable connection. An unimaginable twist of fate.

Kailey’s life is
crumbling. Her best friend and sister, Jen, is dying, leaving her young family
devastated. With little hope of saving her, Kailey is forced to face a reality
she never expected.

Trey’s life is
fun and carefree. He loves the girls, his drums, and his friends. That’s not to
say he isn’t continuously plagued by a difficult decision made years ago—one
that changed the course of his life.

Despite the
connection they make when their paths unexpectedly cross, Kailey knows her life
has no room for anyone else right now. But regardless of how many times she
pushes him away, Trey only fights harder to make a place for him in her life
and in her heart.

Trey thought he
knew heartbreak, but he had no idea until life gave him a second chance, only
to snatch it away just as fast. This time he’s determined to keep his place in
the life of the ones he loves.

Is there such a
thing as fate? If so, can Kailey and Trey hold on to one another long enough to
discover there’s no such thing as a chance encounter?

EXCERPT:

Before I
know what’s happening he’s shuttling me out the room, instructing Caden’s
parents to take over.  He opens a door
into a private room, shutting and locking it behind us.  Walking me over to a couch. Never letting go
of his hold on me, he sits down on the older couch, cradling me in his lap. His
strong arms are wrapped tightly around me.
He holds me close as I continue to crumble, soaking his nice blue button
down with my tears.  He’s patient and
kind, allowing me to release the wave of grief that I’ve been straining to
hide.
My body
calms, my shutters stop, and my sobs turn to trickling tears. My finger traces
his tattoos while my head lays against his chest. I should’ve predicted he’d
have this effect, he’s always had a comforting presence to me. He doesn’t
mention anything about our fight or me not answering his phone calls.  All of our problems are pushed aside, so we
can deal with the fog of death that surrounds us now.
I
hurriedly stand, straightening my dress after I release myself from the comfort
of Trey’s love. Following me to the door, his steps echo through the small space.  He grabs my wrist to hold me in place. I
sigh. “Trey, I need to get back out there,” I tell him, but he pulls me closer.
“They
can wait five minutes, Kailey.  Please,
let me be there with you,” he begs, already knowing my heart is lost in some
dark tunnel without a flicker of light. It’s wounded and broken, so my brain
has taken over, translating to me pushing everyone out.
“Trey,
thank you for coming, but you can leave now,” I say coldly with no
emotion.  He can’t be tied down with me,
he needs to go and live a life I can no longer be a part of.
“No,
Kailey, I’m not leaving.” He stands firm, planting his feet. Uncontrollable
anger starts brewing in my veins.  I’m
mad he won’t listen to me and just disappear. Can’t he see it’s the best for
him to forget us?
My hand
rests on the lock; ready to twist it open when he steps forward. He turns me
around to face him and cages me between his arms against the door. “Trey,” I
argue, but he presses his lips to mine and an immediate raging desire seeps
into my every pore. As much as my body screams to him, anger still lingers that
he’s forcing me to be callous and cruel.
He
places his hands on either side of my face, continuing to kiss me as though
he’s starving for only my mouth. Instinctively, the irrational, live life in
the moment Kailey that he easily pries out of me appears. Something only my
sister and her family could accomplish until he came into my life. “Please,” he
whispers, and my body starts to sway in his strong hold, as he travels his lips
over to my earlobe and down my throat.
“Stop
it, Trey, leave me alone,” I cruelly spout, placing my hands on his chest,
trying to push him back, but he only grips tighter.
“You
know you don’t want me to.” He trusts his keen instincts because they’re
usually always right when it comes to me.
Trying
to close myself off, I press my lips together when his graze across mine again
before his tongue requests permission.
But in the end, I’m not willing to deny myself, I open, allowing his
familiar tongue to roam around my mouth and mingle with mine.  The kiss feels safe and warm, like home.  Ever since that fateful plane ride, I’ve felt
as if Trey was a part of me.  Recalling
our first kiss; it was nothing like this.
God! He ignited my whole body the first time his mouth pressed against
mine.  In those three minutes, he ruined
me.  No man would ever compare.  But this, this is what I crave at night when
I lay in bed all alone. It’s the familiarity of the one man who knows my lips,
my tongue, and my body. My need of one man who continues to enjoy exploring
every curve and nuance over and over again, as if he has discovered his own
wonderland. When my thoughts unscramble, my lips and tongue are moving
carelessly without retention of the real issue.
“Stop
it, Trey.” This time, I use all my force to push him back. I’m torn if I’m
happy, mad, or just sad. Sheer dejection fills his eyes, and suddenly remorse
hits me.  “We just can’t,” I softly say,
shaking my head back and forth.
“Yes, we
can,” he says, stepping forward, but I shake my head violently again. “What the
hell, Kailey? All I want to do is love you,” his voice starts escalating, and I
need to flee the room.  His presence
alone makes me jittery and uncontrolled. The sooner I leave, the sooner I can
get myself stable again, back into my sealed bubble.
“I told
you already, Trey.” I bite my lip, not wanting to lie again, but I will, if I
have to.
“Don’t
tell me that bullshit again.  You and I
both know it isn’t true.” He steps closer to me, and my weakness begins getting
the best of me.
“Please,
I need to get back out there,” I tell him, but he approaches again, pulling me
to him similar to a child with their security blanket.  I succumb to the haven of his embrace,
mindlessly relishing the warmness of home.
“Kailey,
it’s taking everything in me not to keep you right here, up against this door,
until you admit you love me. I’ll let you leave this room, but don’t say you
don’t love me again.  I know you do, and
no matter how hard you try to push me aside, I’m not leaving.” He releases me
after his rant, and I unlock the door, fleeing the room.

EXCERPT:

Colt wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me closer. “No. I’d rather bother you.”

There was something kind of sexy about the motion, something more confident than his usual goofy flirting. His hand felt nice resting on my hip, so I let it stay. Was this really the same Colt? Since when did his touch have that kind of effect on me? “When did you get back to town?”

“About two hours ago.”

“You didn’t wait long to come out.” I took a big sip of the drink. It was starting to taste a lot better.

“I took time for a shower.”

“That was thoughtful of you.”

“Planning on getting close to me tonight?” He watched me intently.

“Maybe.” The flirtatious word flew out of my mouth without me realizing it. The alcohol and that smile of his was making me forget where I was. “Sorry.”

“Why are you sorry?” He moved his hand, turning me and wrapping his other arm around me so my body was pressed against his.

“Colton…”

“Mallory…”

I laughed. “What are you doing?”

“What am I doing? You’re the one telling me you might be getting close to me tonight.” His hand slid down slightly, settling below my hip. His touch felt so good.

“Your birthday passed, right? You’re nineteen now?”

He laughed that deep, throaty laugh of his. “I’m going to take it as a good sign that you’re checking to make sure I’m old enough.”

“I’m not supposed to be into younger guys.”

“I’m three months younger than you. I can’t help that my parents held me back a grade.” He leaned back against an old oak tree, pulling me along with him. The motion had me leaning into his chest.

“You’ve gotten hotter.” I couldn’t believe I’d said the words out loud. I also couldn’t believe I was thinking about Colton that way again.

He laughed once more. “So have you, although I wouldn’t have thought it was possible.”

I took another sip of my drink. “When did you get this cute?”

“Are you implying you haven’t been ready to jump me for the last five years?”

“I’ve never thought about it before tonight.” The words weren’t exactly true, but I hadn’t thought about it in a while.

“But you are thinking about it now?” He grinned, moving his hands even lower so they cradled my ass.

“Maybe.” His hands sent a thrill through me, reminding me of just how long it had been since a guy had touched me that way.

“That’s the second maybe you’ve given me. How am I supposed to make that into a yes?” He took the bottle from my hand and dropped it down on the ground next to his empty cup. The remaining liquid seeped out onto the dirt.

“I don’t know. It’s your job to figure that out.” I ran my now free hand down his chest. It was firmer and more muscular than I expected.

“My job, huh? I like the sound of that.” His lips tickled my ear. “I like the sound of anything involving you.” He took my hand and led me further into the grouping of trees. It wasn’t a dense forest or anything, but I knew he was looking for privacy. I didn’t object when he gently leaned me back into another tree.

I closed my eyes, ready to feel his lips and hands on my body. I was horrible at knowing what to do in those situations. I needed the guy to take control.

His lips brushed against mine as he rested his hand on my stomach. He slipped a few fingers underneath my shirt. “Am I earning a yes, or do I have more work to do?” he whispered with his lips right next to mine.

“You have more work.” I kept my eyes closed, taking in a breath as his hand moved further up my shirt.
