About the Author

7134270My name is Robin and I live in Grand Bay, Alabama. I grew up an army brat and traveled a lot until we finally settled down along the Gulf Coast when I was 4. My husband is 9 years younger so I guess that makes me a COUGAR.
I have a little girl who is 9 and is blind as well as autistic. My life is not boring with them two in it. Believe me. I have always loved creating and I would constantly draw on my walls. I love painting and reading. Writing is something I wanted to do but didn't think I could, until I woke up at three a.m. a few months back and started writing. Life has a way of throwing rocks at you and putting cracks in your soul. Either you can duck and cover or you can make something beautiful from the cracks.

After that, the story took over. Even though some pieces of my life experience are within it, it is Tru and Jax’s story now. I have truly fell in love with this story and hope you all do too.

My Review:

Stars : 4.5
I adore Tru and Jax's story!
Trudy Love has not had an easy life. Her parents abandoned her when she was a young child and she was placed in foster care. To all but one foster care family she was nothing but a paycheck. At 18 she is kicked out of the system and moves in with her abusive boyfriend. It broke my heart to see someone go through as much as she did. She wanted to be better/have a better life and when she tried to get out of the situation tragedy strikes again. How many times can life knock her down??
When Tru finally makes it to college she meets Jazz who shares a bathroom with her. I loved Jazz’s character. She is adopted and from a privileged family but she never looked down at Trudy. She welcomed her with open arms and genuinely cared for her. She taught her what a friend was supposed to be and how to open up and live life. Jazz has a secret relationship that she is hiding though. We are left with a bombshell from Jazz at the end of the book which will open us up for book two.
Jax… Jazz’s brother…. He is amazing!! He is so gentle with Trudy 95% of the time but behind closed doors… he can talk nasty to you… and I mean in a good way!!! The sexual tension between Jax and Trudy is undeniable, but she doesn’t want a relationship and he refuses to stop until he gets what he wants, and his eyes are set on Trudy.  Trudy hasn’t told anyone about her past and doesn’t know if she is able/ready to open up to Jax or not. But, Jax is just wonderful and the things he does for her are amazing! He wants to truly take care of her and you know his intentions are nothing but honorable.
I was sucked in to this story and would definitely recommend it! I can’t wait for the next one in the series to be released! I am still left with a few unanswered questions that I hope are addressed in the next book.... What happened to Blaire??? Did Tru finally get what she had been saving for???

(Credence Curse #1)

Publication date: August 6th 2013

Genres: New Adult, Paranormal, Romance

Synopsis:
I wanted Knox. There was no need to deny that fact.
Knox was the type of guy you gravitated to, who stood out in the crowd. It wasn’t just his classically good-looking features and perpetual five o’clock shadow. It was his raw energy that entranced me, that made me feel like a giggly, fumbling high school girl, happy to be in his presence.
Yes, there’s no denying it, front man Knox Gunner was a sexy badass.

It didn’t matter that he initially thought I was some bored, rich girl trying to live out some wild fantasy of being with a starving musician. It was uncomplicated and that’s what we both wanted. At least that’s what I convinced myself. I wasn’t ready to admit to myself that my feelings for Knox were getting dangerously deep—waiting to lay siege on my heart. I was falling for him… and this was dangerous. The rules were clear: falling in love would obligate me to expose what I truly was, setting in motion his slow march to death.

Excerpts

“Where is everyone?” I call out as I walk from the kitchen through the living room, finding no little munchkins in there.

“Helloooooo!” Still no noise.

“You can’t hide from me! I’m going to find you!” I continue taunting them as I make my way down the hall. I can hear little giggles coming from behind Grace’s closed door.

“Shhh! I don’t want him to find us!” Grace whisper-shouts at her sister.

“I am being quiet! You’re the one laughing!” Candace tries to quietly argue back.

“No, you’re not!” Grace states loudly back to Candace this time. I bite my lip to hold back my own laughter. I pause outside the bedroom door and quietly put my hand on the doorknob.

“Ready or not! I’m going to get you!” I yell, as I bust through the door. Grace shrieks and runs to the left, while Candace attempts to scramble on the floor to the right.

I grab Candace, while dashing across the room for Grace. We all fall onto the bed laughing. Stuffed bears and Barbie dolls go flying everywhere as we roll around on the bed, their little legs and arms flailing around. The girls struggle to get away while I tickle them as best I can, considering all the squirming they’re doing.

“Stop! Stop! I’m going to pee my pants, Uncle Jacob!” Grace shouts breathlessly and pulls on my hand. And that right there is my cue to stop what I’m doing. I so do not need to take a bath in urine.

Grace runs out into the hall and slams the bathroom door behind her. Candace leans into me and wraps her arms around my waist. I kiss her hair and look over at Kara, who is sitting in a tiny chair in front of a table, set up for a tea party and littered with makeup. She has a wide smile on her face and she’s wiping the tears caused by her laughter.

“You’re so good with them,” she says, looking as though she is thoroughly impressed with my interactions with the girls.

“It’s nothing really. I mean, look how great they are. It’s easy to spend time with them.” I rub Candace’s back, while her head rests on my chest.

“It isn’t nothing. Not many men would get right in and play with them like you do.” She looks out the window muttering, “It’s actually pretty damn sexy.” The last part she said so quietly, I almost didn’t hear her. Well then… Kara thinks I’m sexy. I can feel my ego swelling from her words.

“Hmmm… well that’s good to know.” I wink at her and head over to the table to see what craziness they have going on. It’s not at all because I have the sudden urge to be closer to Kara. Definitely not.

“You want to play tea party with us, Uncle Jacob?” Candace asks and then sits down in the chair across from mine.

“Sure. I can always go for a nice cup of tea with a couple beautiful girls.”

Grace comes barreling in like her hair is on fire. “Don’t start without me!” She shouts at us.

I put my arm out to stop her from running into the table and lower her into the chair next to me.

Candace sets the white and pink cups with saucers in front of each of us while Grace prepares the “tea” in her pink pot. She pours us each a cup and we pick them up and pretend to sip our tea.

“This is the best tea I’ve ever had,” Kara says in between sips.

“I agree.” I pick up a plastic cookie and pretend to chew. “And these cookies are even better. Did you make them yourself?”

“Noooooo! Momma made those!” Grace laughs and picks up her own cookie, looking at me like I’m crazy for even asking the question.

We continue playing tea for a while before the girls turn their attention to the makeup Kara had gotten out for them earlier. I’m beginning to feel hive-ish watching them pick up the different tubes and jars. I have a feeling I know what’s going to happen if I stay in here much longer. Don’t get me wrong, there have been times where I’ve worn a feather boa or had some sort of necklace or bracelet dangling from my body. I’ve even played Barbies with my nieces. I mean – I pretended Ken was a secret spy while doing so, because if I’m going to be forced to play with dolls, they better be as cool as James Bond. But never – and I mean never – have I worn makeup and I really don’t want to start now. There are some streaks that are meant to not be broken.

“I think I’m going to head down to the man cave and see what your dad is up to,” I say while making my move towards the door.

“No!” Grace shouts and starts to push me down by my shoulder. “I want you to play dress up with us. Please!”

“Yeah. We hardly ever get to see you anymore. You can’t leave us to go watch TV with Daddy,” Candace adds in with a cute, little pout on her face.

And that’s how I find myself – hook, line and sinker – wearing eye shadow and having glitter dusted on my face. The amount of fun the girls are having is well worth it. The smiles and laughs are priceless in my opinion. As long as it doesn’t leave these four walls, my rep will still be intact.

“So, how do I look? Hot, right?” The girls just smile big and nod politely. “Maybe you guys should give me a mirror to look at and see for myself.” I reach for the mirror across the table, but Kara gets there before me.

“You have a little smudge, let me just…” Kara trails off while her thumb swipes my temple where I must have eye shadow smeared. Her hand rests on the side of my face, while she gently moves her thumb back and forth. Her eyes look over into mine and you can hear her sharp intake of breath. For several seconds we do nothing but stare at each other. Her blue eyes are like looking up into a bright, cloudless sky. I watch in fascination, as her pupils slowly dilate and fill with desire. Her pink tongue darts out and wets her lips. Without my consent, my body starts leaning towards her. She’s pulling me into her, like a moth being drawn to a flame. Just as I’m about to cover her mouth with my own, Grace and Candace start arguing, effectively breaking the moment. Kara pulls away quickly, stating rather weakly that she needs to make a call before leaving the room.

Shit. What the hell was I about to do? I can still feel the breath from her mouth on mine and her damn blue eyes are burned in my brain. This is not good whatsoever. Haven’t I learned anything from all the shit that’s happened this last year? Keep your tongue in your mouth and your dick in your pants. I just need to keep reminding myself that.

My Review:

Stars :4

WOW..... I definitely was not expecting the twist and turns that this story took us on......

This is told mainly from Jacob's POV but there are also others that are involved. We are able to read a little of the first novel Love Square from Jacob's POV. This nice thing is that we also get to read a lot of the deception that occured behind the scenes of Love Square.

I felt bad for Jacob and all the darkness that he must endure now. He is suffering searching for his ever after. Things aren't always as they appear and Jacob finds that out first hand after a tragic event occurs. He learns the motive behind Brooke and all the lies she told him. He learns about what Aiden did to keep Sam all to himself.

Could Jacob and Sam have had a happily ever after??? Possibly. But sometimes what we think is best for us, is not.

We are also introduced to Kara.... not to give anything away but she will play a big part in this story.

No worries though...Jacob will get his happy ending!

This story was filled with lots of emotions and made you feel! I loved both Love Square and His Ever After. To be honest though I liked Jacob's character in Love Square better than His Ever After because we weren't inside his head in Love Square. He has issues and is not perfect by any means but you will still grow to love him.

Excerpt:

The midday sun had heated the air to an unbearable level, and I understood why the word siesta existed in certain hot countries. In fact, it had turned into one of those days where the only thing you want to do is open the refrigerator door and stand in front of it. I couldn'ttake it anymore, so I grabbed a quick bite to eat in the cool of the air-conditioned snack bar and returned to my room, intending to stick a film in the DVD player and chill out until the rays lengthened. The opening credits were rolling when there was a knock on the door. It couldnt be the maid. When Id returned, the bed was made and my top had gone to the big dumpster in the sky.
I pressed pause. “Who is it?”

“Manager.”

What? Why? Had someone reported my drunken antics? Had Nessie not cleaned up my mess properly and the maid had complained? Mum would love the excuse that we were forced to go home because I got us thrown out of the hotel.

“Just a minute.” I quickly tied a sarong around my bikini bottoms and opened the door, mentally preparing an apology, and totally unprepared for the sight that met me.

Casually leaning with an elbow against the door jamb and one ankle crossed over the other was a familiar figure. His dark head lifted with a crooked smile.

Our eyes locked, and for one brief moment I was too shocked to speak. A warm tingling radiated out from my chest, down my arms and legs, and my body weakened. What was he doing here?

I managed to find my voice. “Manager, huh?”

“Figured you might not open up if you knew it was me.”

I’ll open anything you ask me to.

Joshs eyes flicked past my shoulders. “Are you alone?”

I nodded. “Yes.”

“Can I come in?”

I stepped back on shaky legs, and he squeezed through the gap, brushing my arm with his as he passed. His electric touch gave my nerves another jolt.

He walked over to the balcony access and slid it shut. “Are you going to close the door?”

Hadn’t he just done that? I faltered for a second before realising what I was holding. “Oh. Yeah. Right.” I let go of the handle. The door latch caught, and I leaned back against the fire notice. I needed to sit down before my legs gave way, but the only place to sit was the bed, and as much as I wanted to, I couldnt go there. He might get the wrong idea. So I went to the dressing table and perched on the edge, hoping it was strong enough to support me. An uncomfortable silence ensued.

Josh stared leisurely through the glass at the view, and I stared at him. The white cotton of his T-shirt was fitted enough to show the contours of his muscular back, and his hands in the pockets of his beige, linen shorts stretched the material tight across his buttocks. My mouth went dry with an overwhelming need to touch him. I couldnt believe he was here, in my bedroom. If Id fallen asleep again, and was dreaming it all, I didnt want to wake up.

Finally he spoke. “You stood me up.”

“I wouldn’t say that."

“Okay, walked out on me.”

“Yeah.”

“Girls don’t do that."I bet they dont.
“Did I dent your pride?”

He swung around, and with two slow, purposeful strides, he was standing in front of me, his nose six inches from my face. “No.” He angled his head. “I understand why you left. It was a shock for me too.”

I struggled to keep my breath even. “It was?”

“You
were the last girl I expected to see.”

“Sorry to disappoint.” Why was I smart mouthing him when he’d
done nothing to deserve it?

His lips curved into a smile. Id never noticed his dimples before, but then Id never been lucky enough to see them this close. “I wasnt disappointed,” he said.

“Really? You’re
not pissed you didnt get the quick leg-over you were expecting?” Shut up, Amy, before your mouth ruins everything.

His eyes fell to my cleavage. “Thats Jacko, not me.”

The way he was undressing me with his eyes said otherwise.
